Our 4th of July weekend

Once again, it was a hot and too humid for a husky weekend. Mom tried to entertain me with a tasty trachea. Wooowyumolicious

Even the normally rambunctious Kiley lay ed around like broccoli!

Our night time strolls on the beach were off limits due to the fireworks and all the holiday festivities. So instead, we woke up really early and went for a morning stroll on the beach.

And then we spotted a warship in the bay headed out to the Atlantic.

Now this is not an uncommon sight in Norfolk however, HuMom felt unusually sad being it was the 4Th of July weekend. All these brave servicemen were heading out and not spending time home with their families. It just made her more sad. Hurry home guys!

Ha roo! Loved seeing the ship - Mom said it brought back tons of memories for her.
Hey, those ocean things and beaches look SO cool - I'm trying to get one here in Kansas. Stormy doesn't think I stand a chance, but I've GOT to try! Any pointers? How did you get one?

Walking on the beach seems pretty fun. Did you get scared by the fireworks?

You really have to try and send some of that beach to Zimmie - he's a desperate pup. We have plenty in Australia but I don't know if the US Customs service would be happy if I mailed one to him.

That's a mighty large ship! You're right - it is sad that it's filled with people that can't be with their loved ones. We think about them everyday.

WOO WOO - What a huge ship. We have never been to the ocean but Mom said she took our best friend Samantha there a few years ago to see the ships. She said Sammie loved to run in the sand and chase the craps, she would dig and dig and try and eat them! Did you see any of them?

Woooos and a-rooos,
we love going for walks on beaches, too. since "tourist season" started here in Newport, we don't go any more. We have lots of big ships here, too! And we hear our Coast Guard ships take care of all the buoys off the coastline clear down to you guys! Maybe we can hop on one & come visit woo sometime.
